As a company, we at Steinbach are aware of our responsibility for our environment and want to preserve it for a future worth living for the generations that follow us. That is why we pay attention to sustainable action within the scope of our possibilities and have already invested sums in the double-digit million euro range in renovation, new construction and sustainability measures for more energy efficiency and resource conservation since 2019. However, we also take our social responsibility towards the people in our region very seriously and have been committed to charitable causes for many years.
The new Steinbach headquarter:
We affectionately call our headquarters the Black Pearl because it is reminiscent of a ship inside and out. But the Black Pearl is not only visually ultra-modern, but also climate-friendly, ergonomic and well thought-out down to the last detail. Our new jewel in Schwertberg presents itself technically and structurally at the highest level. Even during construction, attention was paid to high-quality, sustainable materials with a long service life.
The entire building is thermally heated - and cooled - via 53 geothermal probes, without the use of air conditioning. The air in the rooms is exchanged every hour and specially selected plant arrangements in the offices ensure an even more pleasant room and feel-good climate through natural CO2 filtering.
People play a central role in the design and success of our company. We find it all the more important to give them the space to develop. Not only in the respective work area, but as best as possible in the entire working environment. For example, our colleagues in the new headquarters in Schwertberg can indulge in healthy and high-quality cuisine in our in-house restaurant. Of course, we prefer to co
and seasonal ingredients. An outdoor pool and a fitness studio are also available free of charge at the new headquarters for exercise in the morning, at noon or in the evening.
We are reducing our paper consumption through electronic filing systems, fewer print runs of printed catalogs and the switch to electronic incoming and outgoing invoices. However, we also use the digital possibilities of our time to save our business partners long journeys. For example, since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been offering our intensive training program almost exclusively virtually for employees of discounters, DIY chains and others.
We are constantly converting our fleet to electric cars. With 38% of newly registered e-cars in 2021, we have exceeded the Austrian average of 10% almost fourfold. For us, however, a sustainable transport model does not end with our own vehicle fleet. Our Steinbach dispatch and freight department has access to international freight exchanges and can thus plan trips with maximum efficiency. The goal is to optimally utilize the loading areas and avoid empty runs through good planning.
The production of our water care products takes place in our ultra-modern production facility at our headquarters in Schwertberg, in compliance with the latest legal requirements. The containers for filling are also produced on site instead of being delivered ready-made. Rejects that occur during production, for example during the production of bottles for liquid water care, are immediately reintegrated into the process. The production facilities also offer us the possibility of manufacturing containers from recycled plastic. The first test runs have already been carried out successfully. For maximum efficiency and conservation of resources.
Over 90,000 pallet storage locations are fully automated in two plants via intelligent devices for internal transport controlled by customized logistics software. The high racks result in efficient use of space and the fully automated warehousing always guarantees our business partners rapid delivery and constant availability of goods
At Steinbach, social commitment is very important in order to be there as people for people. That is why we are involved locally and regionally with a wide variety of charitable sponsorships: For example, we support the SOS Children's Village in Altmünster as part of a partnership and in 2021 we launched a cooperation with "Licht ins Dunkel"
„We. With each other. For each other.“
Internally, we have launched our own initiative to help colleagues in financially challenging times. We have at our disposal the income from the sale of raffle tickets, internal sales and proceeds from other comparable measures, which we have made available in our "Wir. With each other. For each other" fund.
